The Preservation Society of Newport County invites all Newport County residents to visit our houses and properties as our guests, Saturday & Sunday, April 22 & 23, 2023.
“The Gilded Age” creator Julian Fellowes chose the Newport Mansions as inspiration and settings for the popular HBO series. See the real Gilded Age spaces that add magnificence to this historical drama and hear the fascinating stories of people who lived and worked in the grand mansions. Children’s audio tours at The Breakers and Marble House bring the houses to life for young imaginations, with cool sound effects and characters such as the Sun God, who brags about his fabulous curly hair, and the dolphin who lives in the fountain!
At Green Animals Topiary Garden, you can picnic with a lion, unicorn or bear while enjoying more than 80 topiaries in the shape of animals and geometric designs, more than 22,000 daffodils in 70 varieties, and over 6,000 tulips.

Offer is for residents of Newport, Jamestown, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton and Little Compton. Proof of residency is required. Free admission is also extended to personnel stationed at Naval Station Newport and their immediate family (Naval Station ID required) and students of Salve Regina University (student ID required). This offer excludes specialty tours like Beneath The Breakers and The Elms Servant Life Tour, and special events like The Newport Flower Show and Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival.
