The Preservation Society of Newport County invites all Newport County residents to visit our open houses and properties for free, Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, 2026.

Free Admission at The Breakers & Marble House Saturday and Sunday, November 14-15, 2026

The magnificent Newport Mansions represent Newport’s Gilded Age greatness and have awed generations of visitors. Download the free Newport Mansions audio tour app, bring your earbuds and hear the fascinating stories of people who lived and worked in these grand houses. Children’s audio tours at The Breakers and Marble House bring the houses to life for young imaginations, with cool sound effects and fun characters including the house itself!

This offer is for residents of Newport, Jamestown, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton and Little Compton. Proof of residence is required. Free admission is also extended to personnel stationed at Naval Station Newport and their immediate family (Naval Station ID required) and students of Salve Regina University (student ID required).

Residents of the City of Newport can enjoy free admission to our houses in Newport whenever they are open for tours. Proof of Newport residence is required. Also includes Naval Station Newport personnel and Salve Regina University students (Naval Station or student ID required). Excludes special events and specialty tours. Portsmouth residents receive free admission to Green Animals when it is open in late spring and summer.

The next Newport County Days will be November 14-15, when admission will be free for county residents at The Breakers and Marble House.
