History of Newport and the Mansions
Founded in 1639, Newport was an important port city, a center of the slave trade, a fashionable resort and the summer home of the Gilded Age rich.

“Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum” The magic beans grew and grew and grew and grew!
Staging: All floral materials and tools supplied. On a console painted Rosecliff White measuring 36” high x 32” wide x 17-1/4” deep with attached backboard 45” high x 32” wide. Viewed from three sides.

“Lured by his magic flute, they danced along behind him.” With the help of The Grimm Brothers and Robert Browning, this cautionary tale has survived for centuries. The Pied Piper remains a central figure for the small German village of Hamelin.

Nothing could be more “Wicked” than an explosion of color, texture and fragrance. To Quote Glinda, “You’re gonna be popular!”

A Miniature Design incorporating an accessory. Ballroom, 4 Entries
“All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust.”
Staging: On a console painted Rosecliff White. Entry will be displayed on an “L” shaped open niche 8” high x 8” long x 8” deep, painted Rosecliff White, which may be modified without damaging the niche. Viewed from the front. A photo of staging will be included in the Exhibitor Packet.

*A Miniature Design is defined by not exceeding 5 inches in any direction. Design will be placed on an 8” high x 8” wide x 8” deep open niche painted Rosecliff White. Underlays and backgrounds are allowed as long as they do not damage the niche.
This class is only open to Novices, defined as designers who have never won a Blue Ribbon in The Newport Flower Show in the Floral Design Division.

Flowers sparkle like fireworks. The Asian style of flower arranging with its sparse placement of plant materials features blossoms like a magical fireworks display.
