The Bike Tour on Saturday, September 14 has been cancelled.
The Preservation Society of Newport County and Bike Newport are collaborating to host guided history-themed bike tours. The tour includes a supported ride with experienced guides, a small riding group, and a chance to explore Newport's Bellevue Avenue National Landmark District from the seat of a bike. On This tour, participants will learn about the development and preservation of this historic neighborhood through stops at The Preservation Society's collection of nineteenth and twentieth century historic properties.
Space is limited and tickets will not be available for purchase on site the day of the ride, so please purchase tickets in advance.
Tour Logistics

Participants must arrive by 8:30am for the pre-tour overview.

The tour begins at 424 Bellevue Avenue, the Preservation Society Headquarters located at intersection of Bellevue Avenue & Narragansett Avenue. The guides will meet participants on the sidewalk outside of the main entrance facing Narragansett Avenue. Parking is available on site.

What you should bring?

Bicycle (mountain, comfort, road or recumbent) in good working condition. E-assist bikes are allowed, but no powered scooters, tandem bikes, bike trailers, or trail-a-bikes.

Helmets are required. Any participant that does not bring a helmet will not be allowed to participate in the bike tour.

Water. A brief break with the opportunity to use the restroom or purchase refreshments/snacks will be provided about half-way along the tour.
Inclement Weather
If the tour is canceled due to inclement weather, tour participants will be given the opportunity to exchange their ticket for a Newport Mansions Experience ticket. The Newport Mansion Experience ticket provides admission to tour any five of the Preservation Society’s properties, excluding Hunter House.
