Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, RI is looking for a
summer season intern to work along with staff and volunteers performing
hands-on care and management of the diverse and historic landscape. This is a
paid part time position up to 24 hours a week, Monday –Friday 7AM to 3:30PM for
10-12 weeks. The intern will be involved with maintenance, plantings,
cultivation and preservation of the garden. The intern may be assigned special
or priority grounds keeping projects as conditions warrant. Qualifications for
this position include enrollment in the study of horticulture, botany, or
related plant science with two years practical experience. Must have the
ability to multi-task and maintain flexible behavior and approach to
assignments and successfully operate under occasional ambiguous guidelines.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

In an effort to document and digitize our historic buildings
using modern CAD and BIM systems, we are looking for a student or young
professional from the field of architecture, design or preservation, or with a
background in those disciplines, to work both independently and collaboratively
with our internal team to conduct detailed field measurements and draw up one
or more of our Historic buildings using AutoCAD to create accurate record
“as-built” drawings (similar to a HABS / Historic American Building

drawing archives and also possible assist in digitizing some of our older print

We are looking for a summer intern with a background and/or
interest in carpentry and woodworking to assist our maintenance team working on
restoring historic houses. The ideal candidate should have basic woodworking
skills in either traditional or preservation carpentry, boat building,
cabinetry or other similar discipline, as well as a basic understanding of
tools, construction methods and safety. The intern will work alongside one or
more of our restoration carpenters assisting them either on-site out in the
field working on our historic houses, or in one of our woodworking cabinetry
shops building and repairing elements for our buildings.
