Join Master Sommelier Michael Meagher in a journey to Rías Baixas, Spain and discover the white wine you may not know yet, but are sure to fall in love with. No matter what your white wine of choice is, there is an Albariño style to please your palate.
Presenter: Michael Meagher, Master Sommelier: Writing his master’s thesis on screw-capped wines in the United States, Michael realized that it was the study of wine, from grape to glass, which captured his enthusiasm. He has since worked in the beverage departments at several award-winning establishments including L’Espalier, BOKX 109, and Sel de la Terre. Michael is one of only 230 people worldwide to hold the Master Sommelier credential, and also has completed his Diploma in Wine Studies from the WSET in London. He won the title of Best Young Sommelier in America in 2010, finished second in the competition for Best Young Sommelier in the World in 2010, placed third in TOP|SOMM in both 2010 and 2011 and has been published in the Journal of Culinary Science and Technology.

If you drink this wine, you might hear them… If you visit us, you might see them.” Château d’Esclans, a magical property, is situated in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez overlooking the Esclans Valley with the Mediterranean coast in the faint distance. The vision of Sacha Lichine (Founder) with his acquisition of the Château in 2006 was to create the greatest rosés in the world igniting the “Rosé Renaissance”. Presenter: Vittorio Marzotto: With over 80 years of family tradition behind him, Vittorio Marzotto is no stranger to the fascination for wine culture. Inspired in early childhood by his great-grandfather Gaetano’s invaluable contributions to the Italian wine industry, Vittorio continues to pass on this legacy today. In 1935, Count Gaetano Marzotto established the first Italian agribusiness group that included crops, livestock, glass container production and wine-making; most notably, Santa Margherita in the eastern countryside of Venice. Since then, the Marzotto family enthusiastically carried forward its passion for viticulture, creating a portfolio of wine that embraces some of Italy’s premier growing regions. Through Vittorio’s studies of economics and wine all over the world, he gained further appreciation for viticulture, terroir, different winemaking styles, and the needs and trends of the modern global wine market. Please remember: When you purchase a ticket to attend a Wine & Food Festival event, you agree to the following measures:
- Face covers are required of all visitors and staff members when moving around inside the houses and on the grounds. Face covers may be removed when seated at a seminar or a dining table during the event.
- Social distancing is mandatory and the flow of guests through Rosecliff will be supervised in accordance with CDC guidelines during the event.
- The Preservation Society employs all of the protective measures recommended by state and federal health agencies and screens staff daily and guests upon entry for general health. Regular cleaning and sanitizing is underway continuously. The Preservation Society provides hand sanitizer in multiple locations and facilitates appropriate social distancing. As with all museums, we encourage guests not to touch surfaces except handrails and doorknobs as necessary. Guests are reminded to wash hands frequently and employ best hygiene and social distancing practices. Restrooms are monitored and cleaned continuously.
- Each guest is responsible for taking appropriate steps to protect their own health and the health of others. If you think you are at special risk due to age or underlying medical condition, you should assess the wisdom of mixing with the general public. If you feel unwell during your visit, please step outside by the nearest exit and ask for help.
