Mike Taber was appointed the Preservation Society’s Director of Properties in February 2020 after
serving as Project Manager for two years. Taber was a project manager with Farrar & Associates,
a Newport-based construction management and general contracting firm, for 17 years before coming to
the Preservation Society, and he worked on important local historic preservation projects such as
the Casino Theater and Vanderbilt Hall.
Taber has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Bryant College. His
experience also includes more than 20 years as a Rhode Island state constable and he is a member of
the Town of Middletown (R.I.) Personnel Board.
