A Certified Wine Educator and a registered tutor of the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, Edward Korry is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, Grapenuts, the American Institute of Wine and Food, a Maître de Table Restaurateur of La Chaîne des Rotisseurs, and a Chevalier de L'Ordre Mondial.

Korry teaches classes in Beverage Service, Dining Room and Oenology. He specializes in wine, beer and spirits; coffee and tea; and restaurant and hotel management. He has lectured and given seminars on beverages and service at home and abroad, including Mexico and Israel. In addition, Korry has spearheaded a range of projects, including a summer term abroad in Germany which focuses on winemaking and tasting; faculty development in Germany and Italy; and campus visits by representatives of domestic and international wineries and beverage companies.

Korry has won the New Teacher of the Year Award, Professional Development Award, Publishing Research Award, and Employee of the Year Award at Johnson and Wales. Most recently, Korry was recognized for his outstanding teaching and contributions to the University with the 2003 Escoffier Chair Award.

Korry holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago with General Honors, and a master’s degree from the American University of Cairo. Prior to joining Johnson & Wales, Korry managed several restaurants. He came to Johnson & Wales in 1983 and was Food & Beverage Director for several of the University’s practicum properties before joining the faculty.
