1. Classes are open to everyone, including professional photographers.
2. An Exhibitor may make only one entry in the Photography Division.
3. Photographs that have won a blue ribbon in a major flower show may not be entered in competition again. Photographs that have been previously entered, but have not won a blue ribbon, may be re-entered if altered and re-mounted.
4. The photographs must be the work of the Exhibitor. Matting, mounting and printing may be done professionally.
5. Any manipulation at the time of exposure, in the dark room, by computer or in the printing process is allowed in all classes and must be the work of the Exhibitor. This includes cropping, enhancement for color or clarity, removal of a part of the image, combining images or distorting the original subject.
6. All photographs must include plant material.
7. If plant material in the image is identifiable, the common and botanical name(s) are required on the entry card and on the back of the photograph.
8. Photographs must be mounted on mat board or foam core and over-matte in an overlay mat with outside dimensions of 11” x 14”. The color of the mat and the surface finish of the photograph is the choice of the exhibitor.
9. Glass and framing are not permitted.
10. Each entry must be labeled on the back of the mount with the Exhibitor’s name, garden club, as applicable, address, telephone number and class entered. The top of the photograph must be indicated.
11. Provide a brief description identifying your subject, typed on a 4” x 6” card, for display while judging. Place your name and entry number on the back of the card, but there should be nothing on the front of the card that identifies you.
12. Photos will be hung on neutral dark brown panels, with fasteners supplied by the committee. (The fasteners will not be applied to your photo or it’s mounting).
13. Pre-registration is required by April 15, 2009. Entries are limited to six (6) entries per sub-class and Exhibitors will be notified by e-mail if accepted or not according to the postmarked date of receipt.
