Newport Music Festival
Friday, July 8 - Sunday, July 24, 2016
The Newport Music Festival will commence its 48th season on July 8 with the critically-acclaimed conductor-less orchestra A Far Cry. Over 17 days the festival will present 60 classical music concerts featuring over 100 artists, on stages throughout Newport’s famous Gilded Age mansions. Festival highlights include the North American debut of the revolutionary Bogányi Piano, starring Hungarian pianist and visionary Gergely Bogányi, on July 9 and 14; the Newport debuts of the Vienna Piano Trio on July 11, and violinist Diego Tosi at the new 41° North on July 19; and the premier of renowned pianist and storyteller Richard Glazier’s PBS show, “From Broadway to Hollywood,” live on July 21.
From Bach to Bernstein to world premieres by established and emerging composers, the festival offers something for everyone, even those just looking for a magical experience at the edge of the world. For tickets and information, please visit: www.NewportMusic.org
